So you all want to know how was Columbus???
Can you say the bomb!!! Let me just start from the beginning and run...
I found a really cheap flight out of Chattanooga for a 1/5 of the cost for leaving out of Atlanta.
So, Wednesday night, I left my house at 8.00pm to take the hour and a half ride to Chattanooga.
I am not even 50 feet on the highway and traffic comes to dead stop. And I stayed there in non-moving, cannot see the sirens traffic for over two hours.
Next thing I know, traffic is moving and it was all because of a car fire on the side of the highway. No one was hurt, just an abandoned car that someone set on fire.
Just the type of thing that makes me mad enough. You know how when your kids get into something and you think that if they are not dead you are going to kill them. That kind of mad.
So I finally get to Amy's house at 1.00 am and I have to give her somethings for her trip to Madison Wisconsin.
I double-booked myself with two shows for the same weekend. Amy was a honey to bail me out.
I spent the night at Amy's and woke up at 4.00 am for a 6.00am flight to Columbus, Ohio.
But now, I am on the plane and I ready for what could possibly be a great weekend.
I get into Columbus, Ohio and I pick up the rental car and off I go into the wild of Middle America. I am armed with my iPhone. Oh, did I mention that it has GPS.
I go to the fairgrounds and pick up my teacher pack. I call Niki and Carla. We met at the Designer Showcase at CHA. Carla was the table between Cat and I. Niki walked the floor with Cat and I the day after the showcase. They live in Cincinatti. We met at the Outlet Malls.
Oh My Gosh, I hate shopping and shopped until I dropped. I found great deals for the kids and a pair of pants for myself.
So after lunch and a bit more shopping, they went home and I went back to the hotel to get ready for the morning.
Friday was great, the ladies were on the mark. We laughed and had fun.
Saturday was even better. I met some wonderful women who helped me all day long. It was great.
Well that night, the Vendor that I teach with hosted the crop. Now, I am dead on my feet. I was defying gravity every time I took a step.
So I walked around the room and finally saw the ladies that had helped me during the second half of the day. I asked what they were working on and one of the ladies said to me that she was struggling with a layout.
I said lets have a look and see what we can do...
So she pulls out a double matted sonorgram photo. She begins to share with me that it was the last photo that she had of her daughter who had passed in uterus. And she wanted to finish the layout.
Come to find out she has been trying to finish this layout for the past four years.
WOW!!!
She hands me the photo and the paper and embellishments and asks me if I would finish it for her. My heart said yes, and my mouth agreed.
Now, y'all know how hard it is for me to scrapbook. Just straight no junk scrapbooking.
So off I go to make a page.
Can I tell you how wonderful the next three hours were. The ladies at the table all had a hand in giving me something to make this page happen. From bling to the rubons for the title to the perfect brads and a million glue dots.
Well, people are starting to pack up to go it is about 10.50pm.
I look and a I look and finally I say well it's done. I had cut some snowflakes from one of the Cricut cartridges she had and curled them inked them and added some Stickles. The title read, "A Mother's Love".
I look over and she is crying. I said to her, I am so sorry, if you don't like it I can take it off with some UnDu.
Y'all she loved it!!!
She had been waiting 4 years to have the moment.
Can I tell you how amazing that was to watch. Someone asked me to share in the most difficult event in their life. She just trusted me enough to do it and she had no fear.
I have to tell you, when I finally got out of the way and realized what had just happened, I cannot begin to explain. I got the best feeling.
And to think that paper and a glue stick could bond two women for life.
until we meet again,

WHERE is the photo of the layout? I feel your emotions even from a computer and know it must have been not only a wonderful layout but a memorable moment.

Words can not even express how much your help meant to me- and will always mean to me. I am so in love with my page. That may sound slightly crazy- but it's so much more than a page- it's all I have left of her.
I had a GREAT weekend, and I am so lucky to have met you.
You are a very special lady.

I echo Brittany's thoughts, you are a special lady. It's so amazing how this hobby we are passionate about can be used to bless lives. So neat that you got to be a part of the process.

Thank you so much for your kind generosity in sharing your time and talent with my beautiful daughter Brittany. Your compassion and understanding really made the whole convention very special for her, and for our whole family. Again, sincere thanks!

I was just passing by from a post in Valonda's blog, looking at your clay art, when I read further to this post. What a real God-moment, that you were there to make this woman's layout for her, to complete something she had not been able to do. Thank you for sharing that story.
