Altercations or Bust

Well, I just got off the phone with Andra Wheeler from Wildflower Stamps and a fellow DT member. 

She is rocking the house for me.  She has gotten another set of stamps for me to use in my PPF class.  And folks are now registering.

I tell you...  This Ranger thing has really introduced me to some really great people.  I would say that they are all great, but yall know how it is there is always one bad apple in the bunch....

And HELL NO, I am not telling you who. But if you already know, then you already know.  I am just going to make you stew in the juice for a while.  It could be someone I talk to everyday... NOT...  Could be...  Yep It could be....

Opps was that a Jughandle...  Yep it was a poisonous Digression.  And I am not saying anything else...

So I am fired up about Altercations.  It is going to be a blast.  I love the whole thing.  I am hoping to get some stuff ready for my kits and have all the directions and everything printed and ready to go.  Yeah right... NOT...

Up Up and Away...

My darling husband left last night for London and then off to Nigeria for 6 weeks.

Yep, he is gone.  You know, I must admit that the first three days are wonderful...

It is like a mini vacation.  Then reality settles in and yes, I am letting the whole blog world know, I am going to miss him.

I came home from taking him to the airport, put the kids to bed and just had to take a nap. 

Yes, a middle of the night nap.  I just woke up and decided to get some stuff done.

I have to admit that I am really sad.  It will only take a few days to bounce back, but it just hit me that ...

I miss that man already...  There I said it.  I miss my man.

Bonnie's Best and the Cutter...

What cutter you ask?  The Genesis cutter...  The cutter with a five year waiting list...

Ok, so I left a message on the phone a few weeks ago hoping to geton the waiting list.  Well, I did not hear back from her, so I just figured that was a done deal...

Well, while walking thru Wally World, I got a phone call.  Yep, you guessed it, it was Bonnie.  She was just moving the store to a new location.   Right near Chamblee Road here in Atlanta. 

She is hiring people to make the cutter.  What do you think.  Should I go for an interview and learn how they make the Genesis Cutter.  I have no idea if she would even hire me.  But wouldn't it be the bomb to say that I know how to make the Genesis Cutter!!!

Well, then reality set in and I decided that I should just wait to get on the waiting list.

But I am going to order some stuff next week and then I am just going to pick it up since I can then get it just as quick as if I was to go in the store.

OK, here is the plan...

OK, so here is my basic plan...  for the crafty side of my life...

Well, I will be packing the car tonight for my classes in Nashville.

I am last minute Annie.  I have to get all the kits made tonight.  I have to get the stuff printed for the tags.  Then I have to make sure that I have made enough kits for everyone plus those who are going to want extras. 

Thank my stars, I had a nap.

Then when I come home, the focus is going to be getting ready for the Altercations conference....

Then not even a week later, CHA...

Yikes, what a mess.

Knoxvegas... Mardi Gras... and the Girls

Yep, I got your attention now....

I drove out to visit a friend who's son was in a horrible motorcycle accident. I have no reference points for her pain.  But I will admit that he his healing well and he has no internal injuries.  He is still sedated in the CCU.  But since we have come home he has been moved off of the critical list and down to serious.  She has not left his side.

I figured how can I go to Knoxvegas, see the girls have DT calls and not bring my stuff.  I was not coming home the next day... It was Saturday... My craft day...   

HELL EVERYDAY IS CRAFT DAY... But not with the girls. 

So I had to do a scrapbook page.  Yes, not a canvas not an 8 by 8 not a 8 1/2 by 11. A 12 by 12 SCRAPBOOK PAGE.  And are you ready for this, I had to either use Melt Art or Perfect pearls.  Well y'all know which one I choose.  That's right Perfect Pearls. 

I just love how it turned out.  I am glad that they said it needed to be on a 12 by 12 because you would not be able to see the background paper. 

So then I had to finish up a call for Stickles.  Well Well Well, I had all kinds of plans and then finally as the time was ticking and I knew that it had to be in their email tonight, I said well I have got to make it work.  I think I did.  I was at first thinking that I had lost my MOJO.  I really thought it could not be done.  But she showed up just in time and I actually have to say that I think this is even better than the Checkerboard.  I really thought that the Checkerboard was the best thing I had done.  At least I thought that until about 12 hours ago.

This is one of those plastic masks from Wally World for .99, you know the ones that you get 2 in the pack. 

I even made a stick to hold the mask.  I was a bit concerned about the fact that it still had that plastic mask look.  I think if I even made another, I would use a wider trim. 

I spent more money on those feathers than I did on the mask.  The feathers were an after thought.  But it worked.  I wrapped all of the wire with the brown florist tape and then I stuck a skewer up there so that there was something to hold on.

Yep, another project just pulled out of my big girl panities in the nick of time.

Disney's Desperate Housewives...

Now, I have never seen Desperate housewives, so it is probably even funnier than what I think.  But it is my general overall opinion of the Disney Princesses...

Cards, Cards, Cards...

Y'all know that I do not make cards... 

As a matter of fact, I am ashamed to say that I still give my money to Hallmark.

I am hanging my head in shame...

But let me tell you this, I just made 4 cards for an alcohol in class that I am teaching in Nashville next week.  I must admit that I like them....

I don't care what you tell him, just make sure that somewhere in there you wish him a Happy Birthday.

The Samples for SSSC are finally done!!!

Yes, I have finally finished the samples.  I have to tell you that I really dont like making samples that are able to be scraplifted.  Not that I dont like making the samples, I love it.

But for this class, it is going to have like 30+ people -- hopefully-- in it so I need to make sure that everyone can keep up.  And in order to do that, I needed to really make a completed sample from top to bottom. 

So of course, y'all know that I have a gazillion photos from Disney so I made the layout using those photos.  Plus the picture of my Mom and Dad is priceless.  They are just like they look in the photo.  Yes, my parents got their faces painted in Downtown Disney.  And my Mom and Dad must have spent almost 75.00 on those silly hats, but I have one too so I can not say anything.  Mine has Mickey ears and is black and white.

The only thing that I am struggling with is how am I going to get everyone to be on the same page with me.  I may have to do a step out for this project.  I think that is the only way that I am going to keep everyone on the same page.  Especially if there are people that just want to get the project done at their own pace.  The fast ones and the slow ones.  Yep, so I am going to do another layout just like this for the instructions.

Then I had to see if I could do it again, so I had to do the same layout with another photo of the kids at Magic Kingdom. I love this photo of the kids.  It is so perfect with each one of their personalities beaming.

I am going to post the photos of the CD book in the photo gallery so you can go see them here.  I think that I am going to callit Old World.  I have not done the cover yet and probably won't.  I just am not feeling it yet, so I hate working on something that I am just not feeling yet.

She made my BOOBS Sweat!!!

You ask who is She...  She is Jen Starr, Design Team Coordinator for Ranger.

As y'all know, I am in the middle of chaos at my house.  I have to work my life off a list to make sure that I get all of my projects and deadlines met.  I am really good when I work off of a list.... SO I THOUGHT!!!

This is not a digression just some background...

Ranger really liked the Checkerboard.  They have decided to use it on the front page of the website for July.  Talk about a SUPER GREAT OPPORTUNITY.  The front page of the website is the most coveted spot.  It is like getting on the cover of a magazine... Well, it is like getting on the front of the website.

Bonnie, who is the BOMB I might add...or at least she has been super to me since I got on the DT. Told me a few weeks ago that she needed the "how to" for the website. 

Now, I had done the instructions months ago.  They are required to be done whenever Ranger accepts your stuff.  I went back and looked.  They had been done since January 24, 2007. So I did them, sent them to Robin Beam.  When it comes to writing insturction sheets, Robin is the best.  She makes them readable to the village idiot. 

So anyway, she made all the edits and sent me back the corrected version.  Let me repeat, we did this months ago. 

Yes, thinking about it, that was a digression.

Anywho, I see this email from Jen with the subject line reading "CHECKERBOARD" and I open it not knowing what it could be because I sent the instructions last night.  Yes, last minute Hannah here, but I sent them off.

Well here is what she said:

OK, I have to be the bearer of bad news...I just got a call from Bonnie (who is NOT happy) .  They were planning on using your checkerboard and Lisa's compact on Ranger's home page feature for July, but because you never got back to either of us with the instructions, they are going in a different direction because they can't wait anymore to get the info to the web designer. So not only are you losing out by not having your checkerboard featured, but Lisa is now being effected as well because they were going on together.  Now they are going to do Memory Glass instead. 

I realize that you are busy getting ready for the designer challange, but what Bonnie pointed out was that you have already gotten paid for the project...which includes the instructions.  Having your project featured would ave really been a good thing for you...

Well that is what happened this afternoon...  I got my first "YOU ARE IN BIG TROUBLE" email from Ranger.
